2017 Off to a Busy Start For Property Sales

6th February 2017

It looks like Guernsey property sales are going full steam ahead at the start of this calendar year!

Advocates Collas Crill has confirmed there were 106 property sales in January 2017, compared with 64 in January 2016.

This equates to £36 million worth of property transactions – nearly three times as much as the same month last year.

Of these 5 were open market sales, one being of particularly high value following two significantly high value sales in December. This does not include any unrecorded sales of property by share transfer.

Some buyers will have waited to take advantage of the new scale of Document Duty, introduced by the States on 1st January 2017, but the underlying trend shows increased confidence in both local and open markets.
