Don't Just Drive By!

20th January 2014

When a property is New to Market the first thing prospective purchasers often do is just take a drive past, but people do so at their peril.

“Oasis” in Les Hautes Landes, Vale  (  illustrates how deceptive it can be to judge a property from the road. This late-Victorian, two-storey, semi-detached house is similar in style and design to others throughout Guernsey. It is well presented and pleasantly located in a quiet lane within walking distance of L’Ancresse Common. So far, so good.

What is not apparent from the road are the game-changing improvements to the property. Particular features are the superb 500 square feet kitchen/living room extension and the loft conversion that boosts the accommodation to 3 double bedrooms. There is also now an en-suite bathroom and a 3 piece shower room and, on the ground floor, another well-appointed bathroom.

Neither will a drive past provide the positive vibes that emanate from an immaculate property like “Oasis”, that enigmatic sense that it feels right.

Cooper Brouard prides itself on presenting properties in expressive and definitive forms, but wholeheartedly encourage potential buyers to step inside for the full picture.
