19th February 2014

The third Guernsey Literary Festival will feature Prime Suspect and Trial and Retribution author Lynda La Plante. Sponsored by Cooper Brouard, the multi-BAFTA winner will speak at St James on the opening day of the festival, being staged this year between 15th – 18th May.

Cooper Brouard‘s sponsorship will also bring Kate Adie to the festival for her talk at the Town Church on Saturday 17th May. The award-winning former BBC chief news correspondent will be talking about her book Fighting on the Home Front, which reveals the ways women’s lives changed during World War One, and what the impact has been for women in its centenary year.

The journalist and broadcaster Janet Street-Porter is also promoted by Cooper Brouard as part of the popular festival and will appear on the closing day. Never afraid to speak her mind, the well known media personality’s books include Life’s Too F***ing Short and Don’t Let the B*****ds Get You Down. She appears regularly on BBC’s Question Time and ITV’s Loose Women and is also a columnist for The Independent and columnist, feature writer and Editor at Large for The Independent on Sunday.

As well as a diverse programme of other speakers and events, including a Time Travellers themed Gala dinner, The Guernsey Literary Festival will take exciting participation courses into schools and community groups.
